About Dr. Amy Morrison

Why I Became a Naturopathic Doctor

My passion has always been to help people feel better and live a life without stress from their health concerns. With my multi-disciplinary background of personal training, nutrition, and naturopathic medicine, I am able to diagnose and educate about health conditions and customize holistic treatment plans that work best for one’s health goals.

I want people to know that there is always an answer for what is happening in the body. There is hope for true healing, and working together we will create a pathway for the body to heal.

A Little About Me

Hi! I am Dr. Amy Morrison, a naturopathic doctor located in Calgary, AB. Here a few fun facts about me not related to work:

I live for a good run along the Bow river. My favorite distance is 8km.

I am a chocolate connoisseur and I eat dark chocolate everyday for breakfast. It's like my cup of coffee.

I am obsessed with dogs and yes, I do want to see a picture of your dog. One day I will show you my future dogs, Bernice and Bernard. (Can you guess what kind of dogs I will get?)

I believe 80/20 is the best way to do life - we all need to have flexibility in our routines. (80% living in a health-conscious way, 20% treat your self)

For vacations, you will always find me heading to a beach or a quiet island surrounded by trees and loved ones!

How I Became an ND

After attending an athletically-focused high school, I received a scholarship to play soccer at the University of New Brunswick, where I furthered my appreciation for exercise and nutrition.

Upon graduation, I started personal training in order to help people reach their fitness goals. Realizing that nutrition was also a large part of helping people reach their fitness goals, I studied holistic nutrition at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition.

From there, I became fascinated with the intricacies of the human body. I wanted to learn everything about the body and how each system was interconnected with the rest. This is what sparked my interest in naturopathic medicine because it aligns with my passion and beliefs for health and wellness.

I studied naturopathic medicine at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in BC and, upon graduation, moved back home to Calgary.
