Frequently Asked
How do I know if naturopathic medicine is right for me?
I offer complimentary 15 minute consultations for any new patients. In this mini consult we will discuss your health care needs and review the services I offer in order to help decide if we are the right fit. Please note that no diagnosis or treatment will be provided during this consultation.
What can I expect from my first appointment?
The initial appointment is 60 minutes long. It is important for us to review your medical history and discuss your current lifestyle habits including diet, exercise, sleep, and any stressors in your life. Any indicated physical examinations and laboratory tests will be discussed, and I will answer any questions or concerns you may have. Based on my findings, we will work together to come up with a treatment plan that is most suitable for you and your health care needs.
What education is required to become a naturopathic physician?
Naturopathic doctors in Alberta require a minimum of 8 years post-secondary education. This includes a four-year Bachelor’s degree with specific medical science prerequisite courses, and a four-year post-graduate doctorate program from an accredited Naturopathic Medical School. The training involves approximately 4,800 hours of class and preceptor time including 1,500 hours of clinical sciences, 1,900 hours of medical therapeutics, and 1,200 hours of extensive clinical training.
Are naturopathic medical services covered by extended health care?
Yes! Most benefit plans cover naturopathic medical services. The amount and type of service covered vary depending on your insurance plan. Please contact your insurance provider to find out what your plan covers.
Please note we do not do direct billing at this time. You will be provided with a receipt that will allow you to be reimbursed directly and/or used for income tax purposes.
How can I book an appointment?
I am currently accepting new patients. Both new and existing patients and book online, by email, or over the phone.
